Our BioVanish review in short: BioVanish is a cocoa-flavored drink mix from WellMe. Each scoop has medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) powder from coconut oil, L-theanine and large doses of vitamins B6, B12 and folic acid. MCT oil has been tested in people, and when it replaces other fats in a weight-loss diet the average extra loss is small, about half a kilogram in a review of 13 trials. We found no published trial of BioVanish itself. One scoop also contains 100 mg of vitamin B6, the full adult upper limit NIH lists for all sources combined. Prices start at $138 for two jars, with a 180-day money-back guarantee.

What BioVanish Is and What the Vendor Says

BioVanish is sold through ClickBank by WellMe. The points below are the vendor’s claims from its sales page on October 28, 2026, not our findings.

  • It promises a “Keto-Skinny” result “WITHOUT Eating Keto,” through what it calls a “Dairy Farm Weight Loss Method” discovered by “Yale-trained doctors.”
  • It says the product “supports a key enzyme in your body called beta-Hydroxybutyric acid, or BHB,” and that without healthy BHB levels the body will “REFUSE to burn fat.”
  • It calls the fats in raw dairy “9-c fats” and says BioVanish supplies them from “a top-quality coconut extract.”
  • It says that in a Columbia University study, participants “lost just as much weight as if they’d ran 5 miles every day,” and that a Temple University study matched a 12-hour fast. (What the Columbia study actually measured is below.)

A correction worth making: beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) is a ketone body, a fuel molecule the body makes from fat, not an enzyme. One of the vendor’s own references is titled “Ketone bodies as signaling metabolites” (Newman and Verdin, 2014). The “9-c” name is the vendor’s own label for medium-chain fats; the MCT review below covered 8- and 10-carbon fats. The page also states that its claims “have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration,” and the FDA does not approve supplements before they are sold (FDA questions and answers).

What Is in Each Scoop

The Supplement Facts panel on the sales page lists, per 6.5 g scoop:

BioVanish label, per scoop
IngredientPer scoopFor comparison
MCT powder (from coconut oil)5 g18 to 24 g of MCT oil a day in the Columbia weight-loss trial
L-theanine200 mgNo weight trial cited by the vendor or listed by NIH
Vitamin B6100 mg (5,882% of the Daily Value)US adult upper limit: 100 mg a day from all sources; EU limit: 12 mg
Folate (from 784 mcg folic acid)1,333 mcg DFEUS adult upper limit for folic acid: 1,000 mcg
Vitamin B12800 mcg (33,333% of the Daily Value)NIH: not shown to cause harm, even at high doses
Sugar3 g, all added (dextrose)15 calories per scoop

One detail does not add up: the label lists 5 g of MCT powder but less than 1 g of total fat per scoop. So the label does not tell you how much actual MCT oil is in the 5 g of powder.

What the Evidence Says

The vendor’s headline claims next to what the cited research actually measured:

Vendor claim vs what the study found
Vendor saysWhat the study found
Columbia: as much weight lost as running 5 miles a day18 to 24 g a day of MCT oil in a 16-week weight-loss program with weekly counseling: 1.67 kg lower weight than olive oil. No running comparison in the abstract
Auckland: “9-c molecules raise your BHB even more than a strict keto diet”Everyone was on a keto diet; MCT oil (90 ml a day) gave higher BHB than sunflower oil. It did not compare MCT with a keto diet alone
Temple University: as much fat-burning as a 12-hour fastNot found in the references; not checked
B vitamins: 38% less likely to be overweight (2019 study)Not checked; a link between diet and weight in a population is not a test of a supplement

MCT oil

This is the best-studied ingredient. The Columbia trial the vendor points to (St-Onge and Bosarge, 2008) put 49 overweight adults on a 16-week weight-loss program; those eating MCT oil ended 1.67 kg lighter than those eating olive oil. A review of 13 randomized trials with 749 adults (Mumme and Stonehouse, 2015) found an average of 0.51 kg more weight loss when MCTs replaced other fats, called the effect “modest,” and noted commercial bias in the trials. Those results came from MCTs replacing fat people already ate. A scoop of BioVanish holds 5 g of MCT powder in total, so it cannot contain more than 5 g of MCT oil, well below the 18 to 24 g a day used at Columbia.

MCT and ketones (BHB)

MCT oil does raise blood BHB. In the Auckland trial (Harvey and colleagues, 2018), 28 adults on a ketogenic diet took 30 ml of MCT or sunflower oil three times a day; MCT gave higher BHB, but abdominal pain was more common and more severe. That was 90 ml of oil a day on top of a strict diet; a scoop contains at most 5 g of MCT powder.

L-theanine and the B vitamins

Neither L-theanine nor the B vitamins appear among the ingredients rated in the NIH weight-loss fact sheet, and the vendor gives no weight-loss trial for either. B vitamins matter for health, but we found no evidence that megadoses cause weight loss in people who are not deficient.

The Vitamin B6 Dose

This is the point we would most want a friend to know. One scoop has 100 mg of vitamin B6. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements lists 100 mg a day as the upper limit for adults, counting food, drinks and supplements together, and says that taking high amounts from supplements for a year or longer can cause severe nerve damage (NIH: vitamin B6). In 2023 the European Food Safety Authority set a much lower adult limit of 12 mg a day.

  • If you also take a multivitamin, a B-complex or an energy drink with B6, a daily scoop would put you over the US limit.
  • The adult recommended amount is 1.3 to 1.7 mg a day, so the scoop provides about 60 to 77 times that.
  • Folic acid is 784 mcg per scoop, below the 1,000 mcg US adult limit, but large amounts can hide a vitamin B12 deficiency, according to NIH.

BioVanish Price, Shipping and Refund Terms

These are the vendor’s terms as shown on October 28, 2026. ClickBank is listed as the retailer; the refund terms below are the vendor’s own.

BioVanish packages (vendor’s page, checked October 28, 2026)
PackagePriceUS shippingCost per day, with US shipping
2 jars (60 days)$138 ($69 a jar)$9.95about $2.47
3 jars (90 days)$147 ($49 a jar)$9.95about $1.74
6 jars (180 days)$198 ($33 a jar)Freeabout $1.10
  • Second shipping line: the 2- and 3-jar cards also show “+$19.95 Shipping” without saying where it applies; check at checkout.
  • Extra offers at checkout: the vendor’s affiliate page pays commission on upsells, so expect further offers during the order. You do not have to add them.
  • Single jar: the page text mentions a 30-day supply for $59, but the smallest package shown was 2 jars.
  • No subscription: the vendor says it is a one-time payment.

How the 180-day guarantee works

The sales page calls it an “Empty Jar” guarantee: up to 180 days from the date of purchase, with 100% of the purchase price refunded even if you used it all. The refund policy page (dated November 16, 2022) adds that the window counts from the order date, that unopened jars go back at your own shipping cost to WellMe in Tallmadge, Ohio (opened or empty ones do not need to be returned), and that you contact support with your name, order email and order number. Refunds take up to 5 to 7 business days, according to the vendor.

Try This: Before ordering, add up the vitamin B6 in everything else you take; if it is more than a few milligrams, ask a pharmacist first.

Who Should Not Use It, or Should Ask a Doctor First

  • Anyone already taking a multivitamin or B-complex: the scoop alone reaches the US upper limit for vitamin B6.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding: the vendor itself says to consult a physician first, and high-dose vitamins are best cleared with your doctor.
  • Taking epilepsy medicines, theophylline, cycloserine or methotrexate: NIH lists interactions with vitamin B6 or folic acid for these medicines.
  • Numbness, tingling or nerve problems: high-dose B6 over time is linked to nerve damage.
  • Diabetes or blood-sugar concerns: each scoop has 3 g of added sugar, and NIH advises talking with your provider before any weight-loss supplement if you have diabetes, heart disease, liver disease or high blood pressure.
  • A sensitive stomach: MCT oil caused more abdominal pain than sunflower oil in the Auckland trial.
  • Under 18: our review method lists anyone under 18 among the people who should ask a doctor before starting any weight-loss product.

Never stop or change a prescribed medicine to take a supplement. If you notice tingling, numbness or other side effects, stop and call your doctor; you can report problems to the FDA through MedWatch.

What We Could Not Verify

  • Any result for BioVanish itself: we found no published trial of the finished drink mix.
  • How much MCT oil one scoop contains, since the label shows under 1 g of fat.
  • The Temple University 12-hour fasting comparison, the “5 miles a day” comparison and the 2019 B-vitamin figure.
  • The “Yale-trained doctors” behind the method: the page names its presenter but no doctors.
  • Customer reports of losing “10, 20, or even 30 or more pounds”: we did not check them and do not repeat them as fact.

That does not mean the drink does nothing. It means the evidence covers MCT oil at higher doses inside a diet, not this product.

BioVanish Questions People Ask

Does BioVanish work without dieting?

We found no published trial of BioVanish to answer that. The MCT trials that found a benefit used MCT oil to replace other fats inside a weight-loss diet, and the average extra loss across 13 trials was about half a kilogram.

Will it put me into ketosis?

MCT oil raises blood ketones, but the Auckland trial used 90 ml of oil a day on top of a ketogenic diet. A scoop with under 1 g of fat is very unlikely to do the same; we found no data for it.

Is it a subscription?

The vendor says no: a one-time payment with no hidden fees. Decline any extra products offered during checkout that you did not plan to buy.

Can I take it with other vitamins?

Check the vitamin B6 first. One scoop already equals the US adult upper limit of 100 mg a day.

Is BioVanish Worth Trying? How to Decide

  1. Do you want a cocoa drink as part of a plan you are already following? If MCT oil is replacing some of the fat you eat, the evidence suggests a small extra effect. On its own, the evidence gives little reason to expect a result.
  2. Can you keep your total B6 well under 100 mg a day? If not, skip it or ask your doctor.
  3. Is the cost comfortable? About $1.10 to $2.47 a day. Plain MCT oil sold as a food is another way to try MCTs, at doses closer to the trials; ask your doctor first if you have a health condition.
  4. Can you track the refund window? It runs from the order date, and unopened jars go back at your cost.

The Bottom Line

BioVanish is a pleasant-sounding idea built on a real but small effect: MCT oil, at higher doses and inside a diet, has produced about half a kilogram of extra weight loss on average. The finished drink has no published trial, the label does not show how much MCT oil a scoop contains, and the 100 mg of vitamin B6 per scoop is the full US adult upper limit, which matters if you take any other vitamins. If you still want to try it, check your B6 total with a pharmacist first and note the order-date refund window. See all our supplement and program reviews.
